new equilibrium.

Henry Jenkins -genre constantly breaking rules

The Grinch is constantly doing this its like its being lots of genres at once , comedy, family and fantasy.
Mise-en-scene

Costumes-In the Grinch we see all the normal people wearing fancy clothes their shoes are all curly like elf's which relate to
 Christmas.
The Grinch played by Jim Carey is seen as an outsider because his really hairy green body.

Props- The red car to grab attention and talk about what Christmas is all about such as its all about gifts and not family and the burnt down Christmas tree.

Character movement and expression-The Grinch is very fast and jumpyand always does creepy smiles.

Setting-who ville, is very bright and out of this world with crazy people.

Laura Mulvey
the male gaze

In this film this theory is not true , woman are not just their for the men they actually have a purpose.
Cinematography
As we can see there is a lot of close ups and mid shots. They do this to see his expressions and his movement.
Sound He uses the sound to create a comedic effect like with the big monkey.

The school bully vs. the A-student | Short Film  In the opening scene through cinematography we can clealy see who is being bullied from the group of the boys perspective we can see him being looked down on. This implies hes not in power and that becuase the bully is beibg looked up at the blonde is in major control and has power. Through mise-en-scene the clothing we see isnt uniform. This suggests that it is set in america because usually they dont wear uniform. The close up of the bully coming down to his level shows and is a metaohor that the bully is on a completely differnet level and has to crouch to talk to him. This seems very intimidating. Through mise-en-scene like the hair styles suggest 2010. The hair cut the bully has is very like justin beibers in 2010 and justin beiber was a major popstar inspiring people to get his hair as a style.
